UK Top 10

Fun fact: Journey's 1981 hit single "Don't Stop Believin'" is in the UK Top 10 music charts.  Like me, you may be saying, "Whaaaat? The people who make these charts happen weren't even born at that point. How could they possibly be in the top 10 charts with the likes of contemporary superstars Rihanna and Lady Gaga?" Well, my American people, there may be a few factors for this.  First, the song was apparently never as popular here as it was in the US (the UK's been missing out for 28 years).  Also, there was an underground push to make this song the Christmas #1, upsetting X Factor winner Joe McElderry's cover of Miley Cyrus's "The Climb" (please note: the song that succeeded in doing this was Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name." Oy vey).  Thirdly, Glee has finally debuted in the UK, with the pilot being recently shown.  As many of you may know, Glee resurrected the glory of "Don't Stop Believin'" with its show-stopping closing tune.  Now it's introduced its beauty to the British people.  Brilliant.

Given that the band hasn't played a live show with Steve Perry since 1991, I just have to wonder -- are the members of Journey sitting on their couches at home reading the news and plotting their comeback? I'm not going to stop believin'.
